Scorpio :

Bust a Myth

Gone are the days of the big bad SUV. Today, Mahindra leads the charge of eco-friendly, fuel-friendly, tech-savvy SUVs that are still true to their adventurous core. Don't take our word for it, we found that the best myth busters are actually Scorpio owners.
Scorpio owners across the country are keen to tell their stories and educate others on the many benefits of a SUV like Scorpio. Here are their myth busting stories. Check these out and add yours too!

Before I bought my Scorpio my wife was sceptical. She was like how are we going to manage driving that "big" thing around the city. And how am I going to park it? But after she started using the Scorpio, she found it to be extremely easy to park. It actually occupies as much width as just about any other car. The Reverse assist system "Intellipark" also makes it easy since it indicates the distance from things in the way. Plus, with better ground clearance, you don't need to worry about rocks or pavements that may come in your way.

I went driving from Mumbai to Goa, a distance of over 10 hours with my full family including my elderly parents and my baby girl. You'd think a journey like this would be hot, uncomfortable and annoying. That too with lots of people and lots of luggage! But it was actually a breeze. Not only was everyone happy and comfortable in the car but they felt like that throughout the journey. It truly feels like this Car is made for this. Even the back seats were quite comfortable!
-Arvind Kumar, Mumbai

I have been keeping a tab of the mileage my Scorpio gets. And the other day I compared it with my brother's car. My Scorpio won hands down, since I've been carefully driving it, it gives 14 kmpl!
-Ratin Sharma, Patna
I thought that when I was getting a Scorpio I shouldn't count the pennies that it may drink fuel and particularly because most of my driving is in the city. I was so happy to be proved wrong, in fact it has shown itself to be quite fuel efficient. Especially compared to my old car.
-Gerald D'Souza, Mumbai

I think the best part about a Scorpio is how safe and comfortable you are. In fact I know this from a firsthand experience. Wherein I was involved in a small accident with another car while I was travelling out of town on work. In my Scorpio I didn't feel in danger at all since the sturdy, tough body of the vehicle made a huge difference, I was unhurt. Also with the features like ABS and airbags I feel extremely safe in my Scorpio.

I thought SUVs use up lots of gas; need constant tyre - changes and would be pricey when it comes to maintenance. But I was so wrong! I've managed to get by with minimum trips to the service station. And there's been no trouble so far though I've clocked over 50,000 kms!
-Ritika Menon

I had some friends who were serious off-roaders, and attended some of the toughest rallies in the country. I was to go on a Himalayan adventure with them but I was unsure about how my Scorpio would handle it compared to their fully packed 4X4 vehicles. Truth is I managed more than just fine and really got hooked onto the 4X4 adventure even though my vehicle wasn't 4X4! I'm ready for my next one.
-R. K. Aurobind, Delhi
I must share my unique Scorpio adventure with you all. I drove from Shimla to Leh & Ladakh this summer. It was truly one of the most exciting experiences ever. Not only is the entire drive a beautiful one, you can truly understand how the Scorpio is built for such terrain. My Scorpio managed to navigate through rain, snow, rocks and rough roads easily. I felt safe and secure even though I was literally driving through mountains at high altitudes. I hear that a Scorpio has won a rally held in the Himalayas. After my experience, I am really not surprised! Kudos to the makers of this great vehicle!
-Laxman Iyer, Shimla
We thought we'd educate you all a little bit on why your Scorpio is all fit for 4X4 styled adventures. The main advantage of 4X4 vehicles is that it allows all four wheels to receive torque from the engine simultaneously, enabling better control in rough conditions.
All variants of Scorpio are packed with other cool features that ensure it can handle even the most challenging terrain with complete ease. Like the all-important 5-zone cushion suspension, which can take the bumpiest, grittiest roads and make them seem almost smooth. The zero-friction spring work also works hard to ensure you don't feel the bumps you are on. Tubeless tyres are another safety feature that ensure your Scorpio can handle the toughest things nature sends your way. In case of a mishap the deflation of these tyres is slow, giving you time, till you get the required assistance.
Keep up the adventurous spirit with your Scorpio. And if you want to go in for some serious offroading remember you can always go in for the option on the Scorpio VLX.
