The new Scorpio has been launched with a more macho, muscular look, new technologies and greater comfort. In all, 18 changes have been incorporated in the new Scorpio:

With all this new features the pricing of the vehicle would have gone up? Recently there has been price reduction in Scorpio how is it possible with new features introduction? Are u offering any discount?
There has been significant value creation in the new Scorpio. We are offering it at very attractive price in spite of significant feature additions. This is a result of internal innovations and cost reengineering. For example, in the VLX we have brought in the New Look, 2-DIN Audio System, New Ergonomic Seats, Powered ORVMs, Digital Immobiliser and Microhybrid Technology, ALL AT A LOWER PRICE.

The Scorpio VLX is now available at Rs:9.2Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) compared to Rs:9.9L earlier, a drop of Rs:70,000.
I have a habit of changing my vehicle every year however I had purchased Scorpio Vlx one year back, now the new Scorpio has been launched with more features and at a lower price, I feel cheated? I want to buy the new Scorpio however with your new scorpio launch the resale value of my scorpio has gone down because you have lowered the price of your vehicle?

What mileage would we get?
Scorpio gives a mileage of 10.6km/ltr (in city) -13.6km/ltr (on highway) (Source: Autocar). However, the actual mileage varies with individual driving habits.

Will all Scorpios be powered by the mHawk engine? Is mHawk available across all variants?
The hugely successful mHawk engine will now be available in the VLX, LX and SLE variants of the Scorpio.

What is this mHawk engine? Why is this engine so special? What is unique about the mHawk engine?
The 2.2L mHawk engine is highly advanced and a leader in its class:
  • You can go from 0-60 Kmph in 5.7 sec flat and touch 150 km/h with ease.
  • It generates 120 BHP of power and 290 Nm (1800-2800 rpm) of flat torque.
  • The advanced Bosch common rail system ensures efficient combustion of fuel and gives more power and fuel economy.
  • It generates tremendous torque even at low speeds resulting in less gear changes in city driving and excellent pick-up while on the move.

What is the top speed of this vehicle?
150 Km.

What is warranty period for new Scorpio? Is extended warranty also available?
Standard warranty is 2 Year or 50,000 Km however you have an option of extending it by another 2 years through our extended warranty program, Scorpio Shield.

Has the 2.6 CRDe engine been phased out?
The 2.6L CRDe engine will be available in the SLX 4WD and Getaway variants

What are the colors available? Which all variants of Mahindra Scorpio are available and in what seating configurations?
The mHawk engine on the Vlx keeps a tight leash on how diesel gets burnt. The 2nd generation Bosch Common Rail System with solenoid injectors intelligently manages fuel supply to the engine. The 4-valves per cylinder fuel spray design ensures that fuel burns better, generating more power from the same amount of fuel. Hence, the mHawk engine has achieved a 10% increase in fuel efficiency.

Will the Scorpio M2DI be sold in the Refresh styling or the old styling?
The Scorpio's new might muscular exteriors will be available across all variants.

Will the M2DI be upgraded with the 2.6 CRDe engine?
There is no change in the engine of the M2di variant.

What is the difference between Scorpio and Xylo? Why I should be paying more for Scorpio? Why should I buy Scorpio & not Xylo?
Both Scorpio & Xylo are different categories of vehicles. Scorpio stands for power, thrill, & technology, whereas Xylo stands for sophistication & luxurious comfort.


The Scorpio possesses the powerful mHawk engine, fuel-saving Micro Hybrid Technology and hi-tech electronic & intelligent features like Rain & Light Sensors, Tyretronics and a Voice Assist Sytem.  It is also the 1st auto brand to offer a BSIV compliant version.

What is the difference between mHawk & mEagle? Which engine is superior?
mHawk & mEagle are both Common Rail diesel engines (CRDe) developed by M&M in technological collaboration with leading automotive players.

Both these are thoroughly tested & proven engines. They are suitably adapted to their respective platforms to deliver Power on Scorpio (SUV performance) and drivability & fuel efficiency on Xylo (Car & MPV performance).

Scorpio is powered with 2.2 L mHawk engine that develops 120 BHP @ 4000 rpm & 290 Nm@1800 - 2800 rpm XYLO is powered with 2.5 L mEagle engine that develops 112 BHP @ 3800 rpm & 240 Nm@1800 - 3000 rpm

As they are suitably tuned to deliver & enhance vehicle performance in the respective platform requirements they are adapted to, it won’t be right to compare the two!

How is Scorpio superior to Innova?
Scorpio is a true SUV that beats Innova on looks, performance, technology, maintenance costs and resale value.
  • Scorpio is macho and tough with striking looks, while the Innova has plain, functional, van-like looks.
  • Scorpio is powered by the advanced 2.2L mHawk engine which is superior to the Innova D4D engine:

What is Micro hybrid technology? How is it beneficial?
Micro Hybrid technology intelligently switches the engine into standby when not required.
  • Switches off the engine when the Scorpio idles for 'Pre set' time.
